A Miracle feed for livestock and farm animals was created by Al Baber. He started Vis-Vita in December 1946. His area of operation was Cherokee County in Iowa. It grew quickly in popularity because of savings and the vitamin feeding under the supervision of Frank Yaggie. Vis-Vita grew steadily in the 1950’s and 60’s. Vis-Vita was manufactured by Yaggie Mills in Yankton, SD. When Al Baber died in 1966, Joe Karpuk and Frank Yaggie became partners in running Vis-Vita.
In 1974, Frank Yaggie retired and sold off his interest to Joe Karpuk. Joe still is a vital part to the day to day operations even at the age of 93. He says “the major reason for the growth and survival of our business has been because of our commitment to personal family values and quality service to the customers.”
Vis Vita is currently located at 607 Floyd Blvd and has been there since 1968. It has manufactured its own feeds since 1980.
